Music: The Fountain of [Brain] Youth →
Jan 31st
I'm getting tired just considering it.
Even though the brain is only 2% of our body mass, it burns nearly 20% of our energy. Most of the functions we need to go through a day are managed by the brain below our level of consciousness. This explains why nearly 80% of our brain energy is necessary to sustain our rest state or default mode, a critical aspect of brain functioning which continues to puzzle neuroscientists. Clearly, we...

The real question here is whether the poor conditions are due to Apple (with $13 billions in profit last Q, and 28% NET INCOME margins) squeezing suppliers too hard, or if suppliers would squeeze and mistreat its workers this hard anyway. There is no question that Apple could impact this problem, but they seem more focused on PR, secrecy, and plausible deniability than the safety of human lives...

Paranoia re: Google →
This seems more like a reason to write an article than any breaking news. Our ‘internet lives’ are not much more private than our physical ones, and if you want to be seedy (‘divorce lawyer’?) or shitty (‘incontinence’), take the proper precautions. Chrome even has incognito mode (ctrl+shift+n) to help. Google remains boss.

Legals
The wonderful yin//yang of lawyer calls: slow, meandering, and thorough when you’re getting billed for time // surprisingly efficient, direct, and quick when you’re not.

My Journey
I’m visiting orphanages in Haiti Mar 17-24, 2012. I don’t ask that anyone fund my travel, but if you would like to support me in impacting this most needy cause, your donation will go directly to do just that. This is My Journey:  How good was your childhood?  With that question, any number of things from sunny summer vacations and weekends at grandparents’ houses, to the surprise gift you never...

My Mega Issue
One issue that I have a big heart for is serving children - predominantly through involvement in education, mentorship, and now saving orphans. There is a chance to make a real impact on the direction of their lives and then have an impact on so many of the issues that disproportionately plague people: Do you desire to assist the poor and crush poverty? – Rescue orphans. Do you wish to...

Apparently Kanye isn’t aware that royalty are referred to by their first names (reference: Elizabeth, Diana, Henry, Charles, etc.). It seems money and fame can’t buy class, culture, or intelligence. Leisure
Does the term ‘Leisure Activity/ies’ seem misplaced (don’t call it ironic) to anyone else? It seems a category filled with overactive would-be-leisure-seekers or lazy exercisers, but with no identity of its own…
